Types of formula

Types of formula

Milk-based formula

A milk-based formula is made from cow’s milk protein with the recommended levels of carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, and minerals your baby needs. Ingredients in some NESTLÉ® GOOD START® milk-based infant formulas include:

  • DHA & ARA: Clinical studies have shown that DHA & ARA, nutrients naturally found in breastmilk, may help support babies’ brain and eye development.
  • Beneficial cultures: Beneficial cultures (B. lactis) found in milk-based formula are like those naturally found in breastmilk to help support your baby’s healthy immune system. One way beneficial cultures can help support your baby’s healthy immune system is by increasing levels of key antibodies.

Soy-based formula

A soy-based formula is made with soy protein for milk-free, lactose-free complete nutrition. Your physician may recommend a soy-based formula if your baby needs to avoid cow’s milk protein, or if you’re seeking a vegetarian option.
